The Science Behind RITUEL

We combined two clinically studied technologies into one hands-free device. Red light therapy and EMS microcurrent work together to target dark circles, puffiness, and fine lines at the root.

Technology 1

Red Light Therapy (630-660nm)

Red light at 630-660nm penetrates 2-3mm below the skin surface to reach cells that topical products never touch. It stimulates mitochondrial function, increases ATP production, and promotes collagen synthesis. The result is healthier circulation, reduced pigmentation, and skin that rebuilds from the inside.

How it works at the cellular level

Red light photons are absorbed by cytochrome c oxidase in the mitochondria, the energy-producing structures inside every cell. This absorption triggers a chain reaction: increased ATP production, release of nitric oxide, and activation of cellular signaling pathways that promote repair and regeneration.

Collagen and elastin

Red light stimulates fibroblast activity, the cells responsible for producing collagen and elastin. These structural proteins give skin its firmness and elasticity. As we age, fibroblast activity declines. Red light therapy helps counteract this decline by re-energizing these cells.

Circulation

Red light promotes the formation of new capillaries in treated areas. Improved blood flow means more oxygen and nutrients reach skin cells, which is essential for reducing the dark, shadowy appearance under the eyes caused by poor circulation.

Technology 2

EMS Microcurrent

EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation) delivers gentle, low-level electrical currents that mimic the body's natural bioelectrical signals. These micro-pulses stimulate facial muscles, promote lymphatic drainage, and enhance product absorption. The effect is both immediate (reduced puffiness) and cumulative (firmer, more toned skin over time).

Promotes Lymphatic Drainage
Enhances Blood Flow

Muscle stimulation

Microcurrent induces subtle contractions in the small muscles around the eye area. Over time, this toning effect lifts and firms skin that has lost elasticity due to aging or muscle atrophy. Think of it as a targeted workout for the muscles you cannot exercise voluntarily.

Lymphatic drainage

The gentle electrical currents stimulate the lymphatic system, helping move excess fluid away from the under-eye area. This is the primary mechanism behind the rapid reduction in morning puffiness that users report within the first week.

ATP and cellular repair

Like red light therapy, microcurrent also boosts ATP production in treated cells. This increased cellular energy accelerates repair processes and supports the production of collagen and elastin at the treatment site.
